Purrify — Storage Cleaner for iPhone
What Purrify does
Purrify scans your photo library on your iPhone to find duplicates, large files, and Live Photos. It helps you free storage by deleting, compressing videos, or converting Live Photos to stills.
Your photos never leave your device
All photo analysis — duplicate detection, quality scoring, and size scanning — runs entirely on your iPhone. No photos, videos, thumbnails, file names, or photo metadata are uploaded to any server. There is no cloud processing.
No account required
Purrify does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address. There is no user database.
Data we collect
Crash reports (Sentry)
- Crash reports are sent to Sentry when the app encounters an error.
- Crash reports contain technical information about the error (stack trace, device model, OS version). They do not contain a user ID, email, photo identifiers, file names, or any photo content.
- The
event.user field is explicitly deleted before every crash report is sent.
Analytics (PostHog)
- Purrify records a small set of named events to understand how the app is used: app launched, library scanned, paywall shown, credit purchased, commit completed, commit blocked, paywall dismissed, and reminder scheduled.
- Autocapture is off. Only the events listed above are recorded.
- No event carries a photo identifier, file name, URI, thumbnail, or any content from your library. This is enforced at the code level — the analytics system rejects payloads containing photo identity data at compile time.
- Events carry counts (number of items, bytes freed), action types (delete, compress), and the trigger source (which screen). They do not carry asset-level detail.
- Analytics data is processed by PostHog.
Purchase information
- In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and managed by RevenueCat.
- Purrify does not collect or store your payment information. Apple handles all billing.
- Purchase history (which packs were bought) is used only to calculate your remaining cleanup quota.
DeviceCheck
- On first launch, Purrify uses Apple's DeviceCheck framework to determine whether your device has already received the free 2 GB starter quota.
- DeviceCheck stores two bits per device on Apple's servers, associated with the developer team — not with your Apple ID or any personal information. Purrify cannot read any information about you from DeviceCheck.
Data we do NOT collect
- No email addresses or names
- No user IDs or accounts
- No photos, videos, or thumbnails
- No photo metadata (dates, locations, file names)
- No contacts or calendar data
- No browsing history
- No advertising identifiers
- No tracking across apps or websites
Cleanup quota stays on your phone
Your cleanup quota (free and purchased) is stored locally on your iPhone. It is not backed up to a server. Deleting the app erases all quota, and the free 2 GB starter is not granted again on reinstall. Purchased packs do not transfer to a new device.
